Jack Wise's Layout
Jack Wise is one of but a few members we have in the Roanoke Valley in Western Virginia. Jack has been collecting American Flyer for a long time but has not been able to run, or even display it. Jack has run with the club twice when we ran at shows in Western Virginia. In this photo, you can see part of Jack's great collection of Flyer trains and his recent beginnings of a collection of train memorbelia. Much of it from his grandfather's collection.
This is the same scene two weeks later, but now the layout has begun. Jack says this is his first layout in 26 years of collecting American Flyer. He spent the weekend building the tablework and came in the house sore to the bone. But then he just had to go back out and put down some temporary track to run some trains. I think we have all been there before. Notice Jack's extensive collection of Plasticville and Marx plastic buildings with Marx and K-Line operating accessories recently joined by an MTH McDonald's accessory, a gift from Jack's wife.
